Spike Video Meetings

Today we’re happy to announce that we’re one step closer to achieving our vision of an all-in-one ecosystem with Video Meetings integrated right into you Inbox.

Now you can manage all your emails, chats, collaborations and meetings all in one place — your Inbox.

Your inbox is essentially your task hub. All the information needed for your work filters into it – tasks, meetings, files, requests, and more – making it the first and last place you refer to each day to get things done. While the inbox has evolved over the years, not all email platforms provide a comprehensive workflow solution to help save you time and avoid task switching. On your device you may have separate apps for task tracking, calendars, document sharing, video meetings and more, which disrupts your workflow and complicates your workday.

This is where Spike comes in– Innovative, fun, and powered with your productivity in mind, we believe work should stream consistently, not ebb and flow. Our truly unified workspace allows users to seamlessly switch between email, chat, voice messages, and video meetings in one window, making for an enjoyable and efficient workflow experience.

Video Meetings

Even as workplaces are beginning to reopen, the future of work will be a hybrid approach to video and in-person. Organizations still need robust collaboration tools to meet the needs of their teams. Sometimes words are not enough to get a point across. With the shift to working remotely, we’ve lost those in-person chats, a quick catch up while making coffee, coming by someone’s desk to explain a deck or comment on a design or to simply clarify a question. A quick face to face meeting or call can quickly bring in so much more context. That’s why, we’ve fully integrated Video Meetings in your Inbox.

Start or join a Video Meeting in just 1-click. Go from text to voice message to a video call, all from your inbox. No app switching. No context switching. Spike is the first app that combines all forms of team communication in your Inbox, which works seamlessly both internal communication and externally to your organization.

Switching between apps is frustrating for all involved. With Spike, you can keep the conversation flowing by continuing a chat and jump straight on a call. Any email, Group chat, or multi-person thread is just 1-click away from starting a video or audio meeting right inside of Spike without launching another app.

With video and audio calls integrated into Spike, you don’t need Gmail PLUS Zoom or Outlook PLUS Teams. Or even Facetime. Instead of using multiple apps to get your work done and communicate with your team, with Spike, everything is seamlessly integrated into a single app. No matter if you’re messaging someone on your team or a client outside your organization or business. Or, wether or not they use Spike. Anyone you invite can join your meeting or call in 1 click.

Take collaboration to the ? ?

Chatting with someone (or your entire team) but want to clarify a few important items? Switch to a quick video call to get instant feedback on the latest mockups, drafts, and or whatever you’re working on with built-in screen sharing while the video call stays pinned to the side. Collaborating on a Note and want to clarify something? No need to start coordinating meeting times and calendars. Jump on a quick audio call to talk about it. It’s simplicity by design.

When there are too many people on the call, and you want to quickly agree, show support, or simply acknowledge your person – use the built-in emoji reactions for a quick ?? , ?, or ?.

Call and Meet with Anyone – On ANY Device

What about meetings and calls with your customers and colleagues who aren’t yet using Spike? No problem ? They can easily join your meetings by clicking your invite link to join the call from any web browser. They won’t need to set up an account or install any plugins. It works flawlessly on smartphones and tablets, so the collaboration never stops, even if you’re on the go.

Because Spike puts privacy at the forefront, so you always have the option to leave your camera off (totally necessary for those days when you don’t feel like showing your face) or select a background (what mess?). And – It’s the perfect way to make international calls without any fees as well.

Say goodbye to installing yet another app. Say goodbye to complicated plugins. With a complete digital workspace that includes integrated Video and Audio calls, Spike is the only app you need to manage your work, collaborate with your team or clients, share and manage tasks, and host all of your meetings.

With Spike Video Meetings and Audio Calls fully integrated into your Inbox, your workflow stays – flowing!

FAQs - Video Meetings

Nope! You can have a Video or Audio call for as long as you want – there are no time limits!

Video Meetings can be initiated directly from any conversation thread or message composer. Just tap on the (+) for more options and select “Meeting Invite” to invite someone to a Video or Audio Meeting.

A Video Call automatically starts the video for the caller. The recipient will need to click the invite to join the call.

There are a few ways to initiate a call:

  1. Within a one on one conversation, multi-participant thread, or a group chat: click the 3 dots at the top of the chat to show more options. Select the audio or video call to initiate the call.
  2. Tap on the contact the Group name at the top of the thread to open the Contact Info or Group Info. Select the audio or video call to initiate the call.
  3. From your feed (desktop): Hover over the message and click the 3 dots that appear to show more options. Select the audio or video call to initiate the call.

An Audio Meeting (the blue phone symbol) means the call will initiate with the camera turned off.

Go into your Spike Calendar to create the event. Then select the toggle to add a Video Meeting to your event. That’s it 🙂

Of course! Spike believes in open-silo communication. We should not be limited by the apps we use.

Invite them to a Video or Audio Meeting in the conversation, from you contacts list or via a Calendar invite – same as you would with your teammate. They will see it in whatever email or email client they use and can click the link to join the call.
