With so many ways to communicate these days, we know there’s more to keeping in touch than email and text, which is why you can easily make audio and video calls straight from your Spike workspace. Who can you call?
Spike offers two ways of audio and video communication:
The first one, is a built in video/audio calls platform, which lets two Spike users video/audio communicate within Spike.
The Second one, is a free online video conferencing platform, that even lets multiple non-Spike users communicate with each other. There’s no participant or time limit, and all anyone needs to join is the link. To learn more about Spike’s online video conferencing platform, please visit this link.
How to audio/video call?
Tap on the contacts list
Tap on the audio or video call icons on top.
Tap on the contact you wish to call and the conversation will start.
You can also place a call directly from your conversation:
Enter a ‘Thread’.
Tap on the name of the contact displayed on top.
Tap on the audio or video call icons.
Go to the thread you want to video call.
Click the plus icon in the bottom right corner.
Enjoy our integrated voice/video call.
How to Use Spike Voice and Video Conferencing
Setting up team happy hours, board meetings, virtual classrooms, impromptu dance parties, or just a quick chat with your parents couldn’t be easier. Here’s how:
Set up your conference call using this link – https://video.spike.chat/
Enter your name and an optional name for the virtual meeting room
Click “create new meeting”
If prompted, ensure Spike has access to your microphone and camera
Click “join video meeting”
Once you’ve entered the meeting, you can either send an invite to your contacts, or copy/paste the meeting URL
